New Art Pack Available! Probono's Dungeon Tiles!

Post by dorpond »

** Edit: This art pack is now part of Probono's Mega Tile Pack **

Ladies and Gentlemen! Today is a good day indeed!

Over the last couple weeks I have had the pleasure of getting to know ProBono over at the Dundjinni community forums. Not only is he is an all-around great guy, he is also a map making madman, who has kicked into high gear to help those who are not so artistically talented. As a result, he has come up with 71 (yes, 71!) dungeon tiles in the native 200 pixels-per-square visual goodness that Dundjinni is known for!

Woohoo!!

Now for the really good part: He has agreed to make them available in Maptool as a downloadable art pack! Not only that, but he told me that this is only just the beginning and that we should expect to see more art packs in the near future!!

*Crowd Cheers*

So how do I get them, Dorpond??
How to Download Tiles
You can get his tile pack by simply by opening Maptool and going to:
File -> Add to Resource Library, and click on the red gear. You will see his pack in the list.
Here is example campaign file showing you some of his tiles:

Here is a video of his tiles in action:

Let us all thank ProBono for his hard work and donation to the RPTools community! Feel free to make requests – he is seriously motivated! :)
Maptool Bugs
Couple things worth mentioning:
1. Unfortunately there was a bug in Maptool 1.3B86 that prevents you from downloading art packs – Booo! :P
2. 1.3B87 (the latest version of Maptool) allows you to get art packs just fine, however, the license file will not appear during installation. I will supply that below. This will be fixed in Maptool 1.3B88.
3. Maptool 1.3b60 through 1.3B84 works fine when it comes to downloading and installing Art Packs. B85 works but doesn't show the license.
License Information
CREDITS: Tiles were made 100% in Dundjinni map creating progam, with Paint.Net used to crop the final tiles.
Thanks to all the artists there and on RpgMapShare for their inspiration and contributions.
Particular thanks to Bogie and Neyjour. I would also like to thank Greytale, for allowing me to use some of
his artwork at: http://www.greytale.com

FAIR USE:
You may use these tiles in your personal or commercial works, with the limitations below:

IMPORTANT:

- You may not extract textures for use as stand alone items.
- You must credit "CGTextures.com" . [One or more textures in this pack have been created with images from
CGTextures.com. These images may not be redistributed by default, please visit http://www.cgtextures.com for more
information.]
- You must credit "greytale.com" since some of the images within were created by Greytale. These images may
not be redistributed by default, so please visit http://greytale.com/wp/?page_id=867 for more information.

It would be nice, but not required, to credit "Dundjinni.com", "RpgMapShare.com", and "Paint.Net".

I forgot to mention that Probono is willing to make tiles of all sorts. Feel free to throw suggestions his way! He is already working on the expansion pack - LOL! I see others at Dundjinni are on-board too!

Can I make a small request - for future announcements, can you include a screenshot or two of the art contents, instead of (or in addition to) a campaign file?

When I get in front of a computer tomorrow, I'll post a couple pix. I figured all those links I posted were good enough to give you an idea...

I was able to provide one of ProBono's maps that he made using some of his tiles. That should give you an idea of what the tiles are.

You can also follow his dundjinni link here:

Thanks! Very nice look to those, too. I'll be all up ons.

As an aside, I get what you were expecting, but I am rarely inclined to go link surfing (especially through a forum) in situations like that. That may be a personal thing, though. Anyway, I appreciate you putting up the map.

Oops, I made an error...

I noticed that some of the art objects within the tile pack were made by Greytale and didn't give mention to him!
*Dorpond slaps own hand*

As a result, I changed the license files within the art pack and also changed the flier to include him.

Unfortunately, this doesn't help for the users who have already downloaded the art pack, but will take effect for future downloads of it -- unless of course you remove the art pack from your library and download it again, but that is unnecessary. I am sure Greytale isn't sweating over it.

So, I changed the licenses and flier to the following, and don't forget - check out his website! It rocks! :)

I was just downloading those tonight and I notice the pack 2 has 50,100 and 200px but pack 1 only has 50,200 for download. I can make the conversion myself, but it would be nice if it was there :)...

Thanks to all those involved for such a great resource. Especially for us procrastinating dungeon builders.

I edited each pack to include the new licenses. Something must have failed with that one pack. No biggy, easy fix. I'll get to that today. Thanks for the heads up!

I just tested this aliasmask, and everything works fine for me. Are you sure you didn't already download the 100 version? As you know, if the pack is already in your library, it won't show on the list of available downloads. Either that or there was some host glitch last night *shrug*

Try again and report back,

You're right. Maybe I had it named differently or something. Installed the 200s and removed everything else. Now it's there.
