MapTool 1.2 Release Candidate Build 30

1.2b30 is the first official Release Candidate for 1.2

There are only a few tweaks in this release, but there might be some odd cases that aren't caught yet. So please bang on it a lot and let me know what shakes loose.

Build 30 (5/15/2007)
* Token tree now only includes visible tokens
* Shrink minimaps in map selection popup so that more fit
* Make the jar file show a Usage message when trying to launch the jar file
* Tidy up macro help text and tool instructions slightly

Plan:
Make another build this weekend that fixes any bugs you guys find, and just a touch more polish. Branch the 1.2 code base and start working on 1.3. If nothing major comes up in 1.2 we'll move it to release status at the end of next week

Congratulations Trevor!

Going through 30 builds to put out a solid piece of awesome free software is something to be really proud of. If you were here I'd buy you a beer. But since you're not, I'll just pour you a Guinness and make sure it doesn't go to waste.

I am having several issues with loading up my campaigns and/or switching between those campaigns without restarting Maptool. I get errors in the Java console and some maps will get stuck at 50% loading after I get the errors.

Plus I get a mess or errors in the Java Console when I try to use the texture draw. I think it might be related to me clearing out the assetcache folder last week?

Anyone else having strange issues in the areas above?

I had to change the webstart launch code slightly, it's possible that the memory parameter is no longer working correctly.

Please try the zip version with the default 256M batch file and see if you get the same problem.

On a positive note *cough* it turned out that when I moved the link from Development to Release Candidate, I neglected to take along the memory arguments.

Giliath has updated the links and the webstart should be allocating enough memory again.

Using Webstart on Ubuntu with Java 6 I get the following "OK" dialog box:

Usage
Please run MapTool by double clicking one of the 'Launch MapTool' files.

OK closes the window and nothing happens. I keep double-clicking, but nothing. Double-click. Double-click. Double-click. DOUBLE-CLICK!!

Looks like the desktop shortcut doesn't include the memory allocation information either. I was able to start up fine using the ZIP from the CLI.

Be sure that it's not a saved webstart, and that you have gotten a new copy of the jnlp from this afternoon, (such as clicking on the link on rptools.net) If that's what you are doing, look in the jnlp descriptor and see if there is a "<argument>" tag in it

I thoroughly tested the token tree fix Trevor and it works fantastic! Now, when the community decides to use Vision without FOW, it will only show who you visually see on the token list! FANTASTIC JOB and THANK YOU!!
