MapTool 1.3 Development Build 20

Post by trevor »

The "Long overdue, yet still in progress, totally untested" build:

Build 20 (11/28/07)
* Move grid coordinates above the fog
* Don't include non visible token light sources in visible area
* Add Preferences->Show Smilies toggle (toggle auto-insertion of smilies in chat)
* Change token popup size menu from "Free Size" to "Natural Size"
* Increase avatar size in chat to 40x40 (experimental)
* Introduce Import/Export of Campaign properties
* Allow no-grid maps to adjust the token size on the token layout panel
* Use token portrait instead of token image for chat avatar if available
* Fix bug: light sources not always creating correct shapes
* Fix bug: vision distances not working for pre 1.3b19 campaigns
* Fix bug: GM token movement is visible to players without any vision or visible area
* Fix bug: don't rotate non top down tokens
* Fix bug: make oval tool and topology oval tool work the same way

NOTES:

This is a veeeeeeery untested version. It's been too long since a build, needed to get some of the bigger issues fixed, like the light bugs, so I went ahead and made a build. But this one is muy untested.

Please post bugs your find directly to this thread

Oh yeah, and have fun !

Oh yeah, this build includes updates for Light and Campaign Property Import/Export, so although they will be tweaked and polished during the next couple of builds ...

I'll be picking the next two items from the Wall of Features in the next day or two. Be sure to vote if you disagree with what should be worked on next !

Small bugginess in hex mode: When a top-down token image is Configed to go outside the hex, you seem to get some funny jumping around of the images when doing movement - it seems the image jumps into one of the hexes reached into first, even if that is the opposite direction of the actual mouse movement.

NOT a biggie.

This is actually a problem on all grid types, it's a tricky bug that I need to take another stab at

The no grid size change didn't work, it stays the same size unless I go to Natural State,

oh and for some reason the right mouse button menu on tokens has stopped working for B19 campaigns (don't have any earlier than that to test)

Use the "Normal" mode, then go into token properties, config panel, in the bottom left is the Token Layout, mouse over it and use the mouse wheel, it'll scale the image.

Does it work for new campaigns ? Are there any errors in the console ?

Ohhh I like that.

It is fine in new campaigns, though it could be a speed thing, as the b19 campaign was real slow (it was the same campaign I sent you), and this isn't a light weight machine I'm running it on.

QX6800 quad extreme OC to 3.2 GHZ
4 Gig Ram (1.5 assigned to MT)

That was the only problem I had found, though I have another slight one, I have mentioned it before, but it is more of an issue with this scaling, My mouse wheel only runs in one direction, doesn't matter which direction i rotate it in, the effect is the same in MT.

Its is a micro soft mouse, using microsofts intellipoint (latest version)

any ideas?

the laptop with standard mouse is fine, and this isn't a B20 issue, it has been there the entire time I think.

I checked the right mouse on move map and it works fine for that.

I only just noticed, I have had several rezised objects change, but not all

Image

The red seats changed as did the once round tables but that is all

I've been using 1.3b14 to this point, but I decided to play around with 1.3b20. How do you assign vision? I see where to give a token a light source, but nowhere to set the vision.

vision is now implicit, and is like 10,000 units diameter.

Woo! Been waiting for a build :-)

-Might want to put token name above the FOW. (statsheet is above FOW, but the token name is not)

-Expose Player Visible Area Only does not function. (may have been touched on in another thread but wanted to verify here)

-Individual Vision still doesn't do anything useful. You can see all light sources and all other players with individual vision turned on. Also, if you select a player token you own and do "expose visible area" it will expose visible area for ALL player tokens, even ones you don't own.

-If you impersonate a token with the same name as the player name you connected with, the avatar does not show up in the chat.

Totally wasn't expecting to come on the forum today and see a build :-)

Does that mean that different types of vision haven't been implemented yet? I was thinking of things like low-light vision and darkvision.
