Looking for a new RPTools Logo

We are looking to update the look and feel of the RPTools logo to something that looks better and is more appropriate to the theme of the tools (Roleplaying games).

Since our community base is growing, I thought now would be a good time to see if there are any artists out there who would like to take a stab at a new look for the RPTools logo.

If you have a look suggestion for the logo, please post it to this forum.

I made this a week or so ago just playing around with blending options.

Doesn't really update the theme any though, it's pretty much just a retexture of the current one.

Cool, I like the retexturing and the font. The one that I choose with the original image is too machined looking.

I like that it is a little more magical looking. Personally I would like to see the logo with a more mystical feeling. I think it looks a little too techno though.

Btw... The current logo was created using the Gimp.

What are the size constraints you're looking for and how do you feel about changing the page background to black?

Mystical is usually easier to pull off on darker backgrounds.

I am pretty flexible about the size of the logo as long as I can fit it into the site.

As for a black background, I am certainly open to that possibility, but would prefer a white background.

Whatever logo we end up using needs to also look good on the About box in the individual applications. Potentially some variant of the logo could be combined with the application words "MapTool" "DiceTool" for a nice looking splashscreen.

OK, here's one a little larger than the current and maintains the white background.

Because of how the RP is stylized, this one won't work well with Map or Dice replacing that part though.

The full size version of this one is about 1400 pixels wide if you need a larger version for some reason.

I really like those Vry. That is right on thematically with what I was looking for. Can you think of a way of putting MapTool under RPTool instead of replacing the "RP" that might look good? Basically make it a merged logo with both words?

While at it, perhaps brighten up the RP a touch

To be honest, I actually like the re-textured one, much clearer and it feels like the magic ones are a bit too busy.

Finally worked my way back down the list of projects to this again...

Changed the RP to be gold to both be brighter as per Trevor's request and to match the established style a little more.

Also added the titles of the tools below. Is this kind of what you meant Giliath?
