MapTool 1.3 Development Build 32

Post by trevor »

The "Phergus takes the lead" build:

Build 32 (06/21/08)
* Remove zoom limits, make zoom more consistent
* Change "Save" to "Save ..." on token popup menu
* Shift clicking on a selected token will deselect it
* German translation file (Contributed by Salah-Ad-Din)
* Stop drawing grid at 10 pixels instead of 5
* Campaign property panels for Sight and Light configuration

Contributed by Ryss
* Macro panel rewrite
* Put campaign file path into title bar

Contributed by Phergus
* Show letter coords on the left side for square grids
* Corrects drawing behavior for other than down/right directions.
* Adds new Alt option which allows the user to draw from the center of a circle or rectangle. This works for Drawing and FoW oval tools.
* Corrects a typo in the code to retrieve the Status Bar help text for the Oval & Hollow Oval topology tools.
* Added the help text for the Oval & Hollow Oval topology tools to the localization file.
* Corrected typo on Oval topo tool tooltip text.
* Externalize tool tooltip texts
* Gridless sizes update (Contributed by Phergus)

Please post bugs to this thread.

NOTE:
The introduction of the sight and light panels in Campaign Properties is a first pass. It demonstrates that the process works and allows more advanced users to start using it. Look for an improved UI in future builds

Found a bug. I added a second Darkvision to the Sights list, clicked OK, went back to the Sights Panel, and only the new Darkvision is listed. I ade another attempt to add a third Darkvision, and that third one replaced the second one, too.

Your visions must have different names.

So then the visions should be named Darkvision-60 and Darkvision-120?

I see that the init panel did not make it. Is that correct?

If so, it is unfortunate.

I'm really looking forward to that.

I would imagine so. You name it the same the program is going to overwright the old version. Alternately you could do Darkvision Orc, Darkvision Dwarf, etc. OR Orc-vision. Sounds spiffier.

That's more-or-less how I've been using it.

Should there be a visual effect for the light on the map? At the moment, when I use a D20 Torch, it illuminates 40 just like 1.3b31. Is the property panel is just a work in progress and the actual lighting differences to come in the future?

P.S. - I have not said enough how wonderful everyone's efforts are with this tool. MapTool has totally revitalized me as a DM!

Yeah, there's a note in the light panel help text that says the colors are just place holders. I'm working on making the colors show up.

If I go edit->campaign properties, on the "Token Properties" tab, I can see the top line of the "Light" tab peeking through: "Everburning - 20 : 20 40#000000." If I resize the window it goes away. I can provide a screen if needed.

Also, the drawing panel itself does not block clicking onto the map (old bug) - so if you have the square drawing tool selected and you click onto the panel (but not onto one of its elements) and move your mouse away you'll see the square with the corner origin behind the drawing tool.

Just to confirm, I noticed this as well. Just hadn't had a chance to post it.

Another odd behavior. If an object is select, I cannot click and drag it. I can only drag it when it's not selected, meaning I click and hold onto it at once and then drag.
