MapTool 1.1 Development Release Build 12

Post by trevor »

Well, I didn't get the group stuff done yet, but wanted to get these "done" features out there while I keep working on the new token tree panel.

Here's what's new:

Build 12 (8/2/06)
* Add image names to Image Explorer
* Add full image name to tooltip of images in Image Explorer
* Add filter for image explorer
* Alphabetize image explorer
* Improve fog of war token move restriction algorithm (less strict edge detection)
* Improved integration with Initiativetool

What InitTool integration improvements made it into this build?

Jay will be announcing a new InitiativeTool soon, it should have his updates indicated there.

Heh, sorry about that. It was a bit of an earlier-than-expected release, so we didn't get a chance to communicate the details of the changes.

Glad to see people excited about InitiativeTool :)

Just bugfixes to existing drag/drop. This was a bugfix/refactor build. Which integration improvement are you looking for most?

It looks as thought the top level folders are alphabetized but the sub folders are not. I use lots of subfolders so the alphabetation of those would be cool.

The tool tip for images is GREAT! Sometimes its the little things that count. :-)

I fiddled with 'show last move' and 'revert last move' and those look great. It might be nice to display the distance covered as well. Sometimes that's all you're trying to figure out with show last.

Weird, they should be. I'll take a look

The download link for MapTools 1.1 points to a build 9 archive.

The filter seems a bit wonky in this build. It appears to not work correctly if you enter a single character for the search... Well it even seems that other filters have problems.

Maybe I have the wrong idea on how this works. I assumed that putting an [a] would filter for all matches starting with [a] only. . . etc. Or [ab] only those that start with [ab].

How is this supposed to work or is it just not working right in this build?

Rest of stuff looks good.

It searchs for the string anywhere with the name.

So a search for "elf" would match "elfgirl", "uglyelf", "shortelfthatsmells" and so on.

It might be a bit too lenient now but it definitely makes moving tokens through twisty areas much easier.

Much appreciated.

Thanks for the headups on this.
Might be nice to have a switch to change that behavoir as it would also be nice to search for [a]; all tokens starting with [a], etc.

I'm sure Trevor could give us full REGEX pattern-matching. :)
