MapTool 1.3 Development Build 56
The "Are we there yet?!" build
The resounding response is YES ! Almost THERE ! WOOOOO
Build 56 (4/22/09)
* Nomenclature change: Topology => VBL
* Spanish translation updated (Contributed by Patricio)
* Logging cleanup (Contributed by Azhrei)
* Don't autosave if a save is currently in progress
* New preference: Show Stat Sheet on Mouseover
* Updated default images
* Fix bug: darkvision is trumping shadowed light
* Fix bug: exception when a player's pointer gets stuck
* Fix bug: token labels are not being hidden
* Fix bug: players cannot see vision lines
* Fix bug: token labels not drawn when in fog
* Fix bug: Exception when trying to autoexpose when topology not in use
* Fix bug: divide by zero error if the map units per cell is 0
* Fix bug: Renaming a map shows "Rename {0}"
* Fix bug: Exception when clicking on whitespace in Initiative Panel
* Fix bug: OSX will exit regardless of cancelling the exit (Contributed by Craig Courtney)
* Disable menu mnemonics in OSX (Contributed by Craig Courtney)
Contributed by Craig W
* @this works in evalMacro()/execMacro() for macros in lib:tokens.
* defineFunction has new parameters to allow for ignoring of output
to deal with problems with comments in the macro and to allow the
function to access variables in the current scope.
* Pushing the hotkey for a macro button on campaign/global panel
that has apply to tokens set works again
* Locations and Distance macro functions fixes for hex grids
* Macrolinks in dialogs and forms no longer have the distracting tooltips
* Players can no longer remove the owned by all players flag from tokens
or edit tokens to be only GM owned.
* The JSON Argument in getTokens()/getTokens() name all take true/false/1/0
for booleans (changed for consistancy)
Notes
- Please post clarifications about this build to this thread
- Post bug reports in the MapTool->Bug Report forum
- New default images (including brand new, super awesome, top down tokens from Devin Night), to get them do Help->Restore Default Images, you'll probably have to restart MT to see the new folders under Default
- I'm still looking for default images, if you would like to include your original work (read: copyright and license free) please post the image or link in this thread for consideration

Trevor,
your welcome to use any of the tokens here
http://gallery.rptools.net/v/contrib/Cw ... er_Tokens/
and I have a couple of overlays here
http://gallery.rptools.net/v/contrib/Cweord/Overlays/
and object stamps here
http://gallery.rptools.net/v/contrib/Cw ... ct_Stamps/
If it's in the Gallery, you can have it.
If there is anything specific you are looking to add, let me know and I'll see what I can do.

The new states look really cool, but how are they meant to be used?
EDIT: I meant the state icons in the resource library.

Love the new top-down tokens (one mysteriously made its way into my avatar...)! Very glad to see AidyBaby's states in the default resources.
Keith- They're mostly named after conditions for D&D4e (though I think I see some Savage Worlds in there), but I think they should generalize to most other games.

I am all for this. Though I don't currently play anything but fantasy, I think it behooves the community to have some default images(tokens at least) for other game types if we can find some to be donated. Modern/Military/Supers and Sci-Fi would be the best bet for getting token images for, with Shogun, Western, Mecha being lesser used genres that if we can find images for (Jector?) we could use.trevor wrote: - I'm still looking for default images, if you would like to include your original work (read: copyright and license free) please post the image or link in this thread for consideration
I save all my Campaign Files to DropBox. Not only can I access a campaign file from pretty much any OS that will run Maptool(Win,OSX, linux), but each file is versioned, so if something goes crazy wild, I can always roll back to a previous version of the same file.
Get your Dropbox 2GB via my referral link, and as a bonus, I get an extra 250 MB of space. Even if you don't don't use my link, I still enthusiastically recommend Dropbox..

For reference, these were commissioned from devinnight at fouruglymonsters.com for a few bucks each. Very, very good pricing with great results. I highly recommend the servicehyperactiveChipmunk wrote:Those new top-down images look fantastic! More please!

Not sure if this is what you meant, but you can use them as overlays on your tokens. In the Campaign Properties, there's a 'States' tab that lets you populate the states menu with whatever conditions and images you like.keithcurtis wrote:The new states look really cool, but how are they meant to be used?

Thanks, that's exactly what I meant. I didn't realize you could overlay images like that for states. I had been using the default circles and X's.hyperactiveChipmunk wrote:Not sure if this is what you meant, but you can use them as overlays on your tokens. Re: MapTool 1.3 Development Build 56
Keith, I've created quite a few states that are specific for Hero. They are posted in various threads that discuss Hero or Champions. I believe most of them are also in my gallery: http://gallery.rptools.net/v/contrib/RP ... ?g2_page=1keithcurtis wrote:Thanks, that's exactly what I meant. Some of them would be replaced with token image changes at some point. For example, I would like to do top down tokens that actually display a force field being on, or using a particular power, that sort of thing.
