MapTool 1.1 Development Release Build 31
Getting closer to a RC version, there's just one more feature to be implemented. I think this is the second to the last before the first RC version:
Build 31 (11/12/06)
* Fixed the socket connections that occurred when connecting to a server
* Reworked app Menus (per Azhrei)
* Made the orange halo brighter orange
* Added speech and thought bubbles to the Pointer (hold SHIFT or CTRL when holding SPACE to show them)
* Fix the Enforce Map (once) to work properly
* New pointer arrow image
* Don't show a map until all the images are loaded into memory
* Allow text to be selected and copied in the command panel
* Saving a campaign without an extension will append .campaign
* Add a 2 pt option for grid width

Ok, maybe I am idiot, or hell, i could not sleep last night and so I am now dead tired, how do you work the speech and thought bubbles? I can only get my name to appear in then, nothing I chat will show, and it always shows where my mouse it pointing.

It isn't a full functional voice bubble like you are envisioning. That is to come after 1.1.
What this voice bubble does is just show who is talking at the moment.
Imagine this scenario:
Dorpond is running a game with 4 others who are scattered across the globe in different countries. I start up a game and the players connect. They notice that they are at the Tower Tavern. They enter the main doors and the see all the people in the Tavern. Dorpond yells over his Skype Microphone "Welcome to the Tower Tavern!" but before doing so, he plops down a bubble over the bar keep. Then Dorpond yells "Yeah Welcome - now let me take your money in some cards!" but now Dorpond places a quick bubble over the Ogre sitting at the card table.
Basically, it is just a way of showing who is actually doing the talking right now. It works especially well when using voice chat while playing.
Now, in the near future we will be making these voice bubbles a lot more integrated with text chat. That is on the todo list.
I will be showing the use of voice bubbles during the demo tonight if there are no serious bugs with B31.

Dorpond is correct, this is just the first step and they are static images similar to the arrow. Eventually we'll make them fully functionalsnikle wrote:Ok, maybe I am idiot, or hell, i could not sleep last night and so I am now dead tired, how do you work the speech and thought bubbles? Love the zoom! Good demo tonight dorpond!
The weird token tree flashing whenever the GM spins a token is a little unsettling though.

Cool. I look forward to taking a look. Thanks.trevor wrote:* Reworked app Menus (per Azhrei)
A silly request, but could we have a different filename extension? It conflicts with the one used by DM Genie, and I'd like to have one that a double-click could auto-open the correct application... (Would that work if I made an association between the MT campaign file and MT?)trevor wrote:* Saving a campaign without an extension will append .campaign
