Freaky. I think I'll look through Sun's bug tracker and see what would be causing post patch 6 releases to suck so bad.

I don't seem to be having any trouble with patch 7 if that's any help.

And patch 6 showed it last night. So I'm beginning to suspect a timing issue in the "I need to update my cache" part of the renderer.

Actually, it happens with single line segments as well just not as consistantly. A problem with the display being changed outside of the AWT/Swing thread?
I've found a potential race condition that may cause this and have fixed it. Unfortunately since I can't reproduce it I don't know if it actually fixed it so I'll need you to check out the next release and verify if it fixed it.
