The host that runs RPTools had a catastrophic hard drive failure and took a while to come back online:

We seem to be back online. Here's hoping it doesn't happen again.

Edited by Azhrei: Note that the Test Connection is broken and even worse, it will prevent a working setup from starting a server! DO NOT USE IT. (As of June 10th, 2009.)

I was afraid the site got yanked due to some arcane copyright violation. Just last night my friend and I were testing the whole connect-to-server aspect and we both agreed that if, for some reason maptools never got any better it was still darn near perfect. I thought maybe I'd cursed it.

I was fortunate that I had to go to work and had a very busy day. I noticed the downtime and commented over on the HERO Games forum. When I got home, rptools.net was back up! Lucky me.

I've edited Trevor's OP to indicate that the Test Connection button doesn't work and I've also modified the subject line to grab users' attention. Hopefully this helps.

Hmmm, I can still connect to the service manually so the external process is still running. Must be something still broken at the host.
