I'll be running Karls & Scents in an upcoming weeknight. We have an opening or two for new players (NOOB's WELCOME). We'll be using similar character generation rules as we did for "With a little help from my friends" and if you have a character from that you can carry it over into the next one.

NEXT GAME: POSTPONED UNTIL SEPTEMBER.

Character generation rules are attached several posts down.

Like last time, diversify your skills.

Announcement on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday game is forthcoming. Game runs from 7:30pm - 10 (or so) MST.

If interested post here or PM me.

Thanks!

Jay H
p.s. The Base Campaign File is attached if any of you want to check out which properties we're using or to create a character token and enter stats prior to the game starting.

You had Johann with Vasha and Rolf at "I'll be running...". Let me know the day and time. I will likely spend my exp on +5 ws for 100 xp and charm animal as discussed for 150 xp and save the balance. I updated the character description in the old forum thread for Johann. Although I am thinking of spending the extra 200 xp on Fellowship and wounds...

Notable Rule: Commanding Trained Animals (ROTIQ:100):
Trainers can compel their animals to take Move actions by speech or hand gestures. This action does not require a skill test. To have an animal perform any other action requires the trainer to take a Use Skill Half-Action and pass a Charm Animal Test. (For example: attack a specific creature). Each degree of success forces the animal to repeat the ordered action for one round (as necessary). Failure means the animal does nothing. With 3 degrees of failure or more, the animal gets confused and lashes out at the closest target (or runs away in some cases). These Charm Animal Tests should be modified according to how the creature is treated, trained, and fed. Examples of how the GM can do this can be found in the Old World Armory or OWA (p101-103), which includes rules for henchmen that can be adapted to fit trained bears.

HOUSE RULE:
* A common dog can be advanced up to a WarDog's statistics (see OWA:80).

Johann will be there though his advances will need to be redone.

UPDATE: The XP suck is a party xp suck so I will only run one dog at a time and in a supportive roll unless we end up with less than 4. I revised Johann's advances to reflect the following: +5% WS and +10% Fel.

Guys, I dropped the xp suck rule now that I found the rules on how to command the dog (half action, just like the Bear Tamer from rotiq). Posted above.

I'm just getting used to assigning xp for goals instead of the old D&D addage, "We kill them and take their stuff. " ;)

All, attached is the "House Rulebook" for playing WFRP on maptool. Let me know if you think anything should be altered before it's "finalized."

Mark, I altered the animal training rule advancement. If you'd like to advance the animal, I noted that it has to be a "good" quality animal. Since you have two dogs it's your choice if you just want the two common dogs or if you want to just "combine the two" and allow it to advance.

Now I can get down to scenario work & get the next background posted :)

Hey, saw your post over at the Fantasy Flight Games sight. I've not played a game of WFRPG before, nor played a game on MapTools, but I think I've got it covered. I'm looking forward to finally getting to use both. I rolled up and the die spat out a Human Soldier.

I'll send out the next notice in late August.

I've been trying to drive some WFRP support GM's to Maptool. We'll see if anyone else wants to try their hand at it :) I know Jesse B is out for a while b/c of his new baby.

If any GM want's to try it before I get back, just use the BASE CAMPAIGN FILE attached to the first post. Macros, tables, etc. are all in there.

See you all in September.

Jay
