So yeah, I've been trying to join a Pathfinder Kingmaker game with MapTool. It's a long story so. Being the God of Lost Causes I am now looking for a AFMBE game. Who is crazy enough not run this puppy for us?

I can run it if we get a group together. 3 players should be good enough. I am free anytime.

Okay here we go! :D

Well I first wish to admit that I have never played it and have not read the rules in a year. I am "sure" more or less that I can get one to two players so we can get two or three players, maybe more if this post grabs a few eyes. So as a ball park I am free any day aside from Weds and Sun. Hell even they are fair game depending on times.

Thoughts?

Thats fine, 3 players is enough. Unisystem is easy, I have ran this game with a bunch of new players that have never even browsed the rulebook.

I am thinking either:

A small-town infection; small investigation type adventure. There are murders, run and close the doors to the house before they get you sort of thing. Group of townies try to make sense of the situation, they band together in small-scale duties to keep the peace. You are free to create whatever character, and this is easier to run for people new to survival horror.

Subway/NYC infection; way more chaotic. I just like New York City, and running inside subways, and trying to catch a breather in a city under zombie invasion would be fun. You are free to create any character, but this is harder to run considering that not everyone can have fun with less direction and more chaos put together.

Military Special Forces; I was writing a short story of a small team of military soldiers whos job is to hold down a private aircraft station in NYC during the outbreak. Easier to run, but restricts the players to create military-type characters only (but you do start out with sweet weapons and tools).

Atleast two of the people I can get are from NYC so that would rock we are also old school RPers and so we don't worry about less direction, help us with rules and then watch us go! :D

As for the setting it will not matter to me.
Hell I do not even mind not knowing it I will more than likely make some regular guy with skillls and advantages that will serve me little in a ZomApoc but would get him a great life in the real world lol.

Hmm I am guessing the maptool thing would be hell with Subaway maps for you?

Well anyway. WOOO I'm stoked.

*edit*
What day are you feeling?
Time?
Time Zone?
When I know what you'd like then I can see if I can make it fit too. I know you said any but I am "nearly" any as well. If my other two can't make it then...well tough and we can look for more. :D

Cool, I am from NYC too. I am open anyday, although I would like to target a weekday if possible.

I have been feeling the anime High School of the Dead. I would like to draw from that, though its pretty typical. I guess the pacing of that show is what I would like.

Is this mic or not mic? I dont have any vent-servers are anything like that. I am both an experienced in person gm, and online gm for years, but for some reason I can never really grasp online gming with voice. This doesnt mean I wont try (since maptoolers prefer voice I would have to get used to it eventually), I am just saying its something I am not used to.

We use skype. It's quick, easy and most of all free. MmmMmm freeee.
BTW HSotD is one of my favorite shows.

Let me get on the horn with my people and ask them a day time they can work it.

If you are looking for another player, I'd be interested depending on times.

The more the merrier, cut off point would be 5 players.

So, what sort of gaming with voice do you guys prefer?

Everything voiced from narration, to in character talk, to occ; or just voicing your occ and typing your characters speech?

We tend to voice everything in our games.
A bunch of little unpaid Z class actors. Playing the role of scared S---less survivors is a blast.

Ok, characters will be "normals".

For those that dont have the book and dont know the rules: I dont have my book with me since I am out of state, but if i remember correctly its 14 pts for attributes (strength, dexerity, constitution, intelligence, perception, willpower), stats are self-explanatory. You spent pt for pt, so str 3 is 3 points.

You have 30 pts for skills. Just pick skills, any skill (you dont need the book unless for some reason you cant think up of skills), I will sort it out. Again, this is pt for pt, pass skill 5 costs more (dont remember how much more). Some skills are special skills costs more points, i think double (not sure).

Then you pick qualities (i dont remember how much you can pick for normals, I think 5 pts). You will need the book for this, but most of the time you can just guess a quality, like harder to kill (adds life points), good hearing (gives you bonus to perception when its something you can hear). Then there is drawbacks which give you BACK points to spend on attributes, skills or qualities (drawback example, addicted). We can sort out the pt value (its not point for point anymore) before the game together.

Then there are certain formulas that will give you your lifepoints, essense, etc. that are easy to do. Once i have the books in my hands i can share the exact calculation.

Rule is simple, add attribute and skill and add that to a d10 roll, have to beat 9. The more you beat the 9 the better the result (decided on by a chart). Also, there are small rule differences for combat and guns that arent too difficult.

I have the books somewhere.

Ugh, normals! We're all gonna die! ;)

Anyway, before I start making a char, what time do you think this will happen?

As for voice parts, I'm good with whatever mix so long as we're consistent.

What day times are good for you Cyroa?
I am waiting for two friends to get home before I ask them them as well. Oh and Timezone?

Normals? Cool! Let the running and panic begin! They have to catch my punk @$$ to kill me.

I'm Eastern. I prefer evenings (notably Thurs and Sundays are bad for me) starting around 8 give or take.

I think I might start this in a building complex in Brooklyn, New York. Keep in mind that one of the main draws in horror survival is finding weapons, items, and other useful material. So you cant have an item list like:
2 rifles, 3 grenades, 1 portable dvd player, upc power saver, helicopter, camping supplies.

I will allow one player to have 1 gun for the whole group if they play either a cop with drawbacks reflecting him as the type to risk his life and be the hero, or a criminal who has negative drawbacks that can get him in trouble (both of these choices are actually hard). Best time you can have in this game is when you finally score weapons and useful gear, or when you have to improvise a wrench to a zombies face.
