Hey,
I'd like to request that rpgloop (http://rpgloop.net) be added to the list. It's a site with a two year history solely dedicated to "player-gm match-making", so if you're looking for a game to play in or need players for your game, you should post it on the site.
The site itself features many features that try to make things as smooth as possible, you can get alerted about new games by email or read them as RSS feeds, protect your privacy by masking your contact information for only your chosen players to see and leave comments on games, much like a forum thread.
D&D 3rd and 4th edition seems to be the most popular game around at the moment, if you are looking for something exotic, however, these are available as well.
Disclaimer: I am the author of the site above. The reason it exists is mainly that I couldn't find players myself and I tend to try to solve my problems "once and for all", ergo a fully-automatic website seemed to be the logical answer to my problem. It backfired a bit, because for a long time I spent all of my gaming time coding the site (maybe the RPTools people have the same problem?) but I am still pleased with the result.
The site used to be OpenRPG-centric, but since a few month is open to MapTool as well. As for how well it works: Recently, I have decided to give MapTool a try (because topology looks so awesome) and I tried posting on the site myself. I had five player spots filled (with a few people filtered out) in less then 24 hours, so if you're a GM without players, I'm confident that you'll get something that worth the 10 minutes effort it takes to post a game.
The url of the page is: http://rpgloop.net.

Re: Notes
I'd like to request rpgregistery be removed.
Got to the site. Register for an account. Watch the site break.
Seriously. Logged in and I can't see a thing on the site except the ad at the top of the page. Tried it in FireFox and IE, so, it ain't me.
I tried registering there a few weeks ago, IIRC, and couldn't get the registration page to load at all, then.

We'll leave it for now, but if others report having problems too then we can review it again.murlynd wrote:I'd like to request rpgregistery be removed.

Re: Notes
For german speaking players: There is http://www.drachenzwinge.de. They also have a Teamspeak server for P&P games.
Re: Notes
I'm going to second this. Just tried to test it today (even though i know the original post was a few months old), and did the same, did the first registration page,, then got to a "skills" page, and it was nothing but the top banner, and a bunch of brown. Allowed it in my javascript blocker, and nothing changed.Azhrei wrote:We'll leave it for now, but if others report having problems too then we can review it again.murlynd wrote:I'd like to request rpgregistery be removed.

Re: Notes
Which page do you find this on? I just went to the Community page but didn't find this rpgregistry link. Is it under a different name and I just missed it?aku wrote:I'm going to second this. Re: Notes
The rpgregistry sites does indeed seem to be broken.
Stuff created by more capable MT users than myself :[Light vision Illumination Generator Tool] [External table editor] [Lindsay's Generic Tools] [Import and Export Maps for b63] [Group Movement]
Re: Notes
Interesting. I just clicked the quoted link and it worked fine. Sounds like they may be having problems but since it just worked for me, I'll continue to leave it there for now. Thanks for checking, though.
Re: Notes
I'm sorry Az, i still say it's broke. i just tried to log in, and got this:Azhrei wrote:Interesting. I just clicked the quoted link and it worked fine. Sounds like they may be having problems but since it just worked for me, I'll continue to leave it there for now. Thanks for checking, though.
No logout link, clicking the rpgregistry link in the upper left tries to load and comes up with the same error, closing out the window and re-opening goes to the same error.Fatal error: main() [<a href='function.main'>function.main</a>]: The script tried to execute a method or access a property of an incomplete object. Please ensure that the class definition "player" of the object you are trying to operate on was loaded _before_ unserialize() gets called or provide a __autoload() function to load the class definition in /var/www/vhosts/rpgregistry.com/httpdocs/index.php on line 5
Re: Notes
well, since it's been such a long time since i've tried logging on, and perhaps i've forgotten my login, perhaps it just craps a cosmic sh*tton if you get it wrong
Re: Notes
not a password error, as i entered it wrong on purpose, and it gave a standard error, and not a windows only issue, as it kicks it on my linux machine as well...
