Base House Rules


CHARACTER GENERATION OVERVIEW

Characters are generated using these base WFRP2 rules. There may be occasions where characters are created with advances. There is a form-fillable character sheet and WFRP-Errata at: http://gallery.rptools.net/v/contrib/emirikol7/ EMAIL ME YOUR CHARACTER SHEET: hafner.jay@gmail.com.

NAME
See next post down for a list of names appropriate to WFRP.

RACE & CAREER
Choose your starting race and career. The main 4 character races are used as well as provincial subraces for humans. Elf (Asrai or Asuri), Dwarf, Halfling, Human (Imperial, Bretonnian, Kislevitie, etc.). Human regional origin should be Imperial unless your starting career requires something else.
Human Provincial Racial Features are OK for use:
Imperial: Averland, Hochland, Middenland, Nordland, Ostermark, Ostland, Reikland, Stirland, Talabecland, Wissenland (Sigmar's Heirs or Career Compendium)
Kislevite: Gospodar, Ungol; north/south/east/west (p.89 of RotIQ)
Bretonnian: L'Anguille, Aquitaine, Artois, Bastonne, Bordeleaux, Brionne, Carcassonne, Couronne, Gisoreaux, Lyonesse, Montfort, Mousillon, Parravon, Quenelles (Bretonnia sourcebook)

CHARACTERISTIC GENERATION
You have two choices: 1) Use stat spread below or 2) use SecureDice to send me rolls (Shallya's Mercy rule may be used but no re-rolls if you don't get exactly what you want!).
Pre-rolled Characteristic Spread:
Main Profile Characteristics (arrange to taste): +17, +15, +12, +11, +10, +9, +7, +6 Shallya's Mercy is not used.
Secondary Profile Characteristics: Wounds: Your Table 2-2 d10 roll is a 7. Fate Points: Your Table 2-3 d10 roll is an 8.
The Free Advance is applied after you've determined your characteristics.

STARTING TRAPPINGS
* Characters begin with 15 gc and the basic trappings detailed on page 20 WFRP. * Selling stuff: Non-gem/jewelry sells for 30%. A successful Haggle test increases it by 5 percent points, plus 5 points per degree of success. A failed Haggle test doesn't lower the price, unless the player made a completely rotten roll. In any case, rolling for haggling doesn't oblige the PC to do the trade. Purchasing uncommon items requires a scarcity roll with the GM. Poor quality gear has zero resale value.

REPLACEMENT CHARACTERS
Characters may die horribly or be changed between any session so have a back-up.
Replacement characters will begin with the following:
* Same x.p. as your last character minus 100 (minimum zero)
* Basic and career trappings plus 15 gc (do not roll for gold)

House rules:
Purchase out of career basic skill 150 xp.
Charm Animal (to command a dog): Basic skill. Half action to command a trained animal.

CAMPAIGN PROPERTIES, MACROS & MAPTOOL TOKENS
Macros and campaign properties were developed by Jesse Burke.
* Your character token should have a gold ring around it.
* Set your token Ownership to ALL PLAYERS
* Set your token Config>Properties to wfrp-jh when you link in.
* The "notes" section of your Token should contain a list of your skills, talents, and gear.

Campaign Background
This campaign is set in the Empire. It is the year 2523 and the Empire is still reeling from the Storm of Chaos.


PLAY-STYLE

My GM style focuses on mature-themes with humor, keeping the game moving, and having a good time sometimes at the expense of the "rules." Campaigns are typically humanocentric. I typically customize bestiary statistics so don't rules quote me on creatures. I encourage players to make an interesting, well-rounded character EVERY time. What doesn't fit in my games? Avoid being an unpleasant idiot and no PvP theft unless it's part of the greater theme of the game.

Q: I'd like to use the Old World Armory for gear. What sourcebooks are legal for play?
A: Players may use any official 2E book within the above guidelines.

Q: May I sell or rearrange my trappings before game play begins?
A: Contact me first and I'll have you submit rolls appropriate, etc.

Maptool prep:

Q: I'm new to maptool. Is it ok if I still play?
A: Yes. Welcome to maptool and WFRP! If you're new to maptool or need a refresher, please watch the tutorials for players. I'll be emailing out Macro's as necessary. If you're new to WFRP, let the GM know so he can help you out.

Q: Does each short-adventure span over Wed. and Thursd. sessions ? or each of them is a separate story ?
A: We'll pick the nights that most players are available and if a scenario goes longer than one night, we'll either go to the next night or the following week depending on our schedules. We may also modify the timeframe if necessary too. Each scenario truly is a seperate scenario and I'll generally make them somewhat linked except when they call for a really different character concept.

Thursday is better for me as it is the wife's girls night out but Wednesday could work. Would we start at 10 pm EST or 10:30 pm EST? I would prefer the earlier.

If we could get a little of the intro to the first scenario posted, it would help the first session go smoother. Also if people could post a little bit about their characters, it would help as well. I assume we either know each other well or have at least a passing knowledge such as all hang out in the same bar.

PS Johann is a young imperial noble. He is a bit down on his luck as he calls it, i.e. cash, and while he does like to slum, he knows that money, reputation and power can be obtained from adventuring. Plus it is less boring than hanging with the relatives while he is in exile from his home province, really sent away to avoid becoming invasion casualty. His main companions are his earring denoting status, his main gauche (gift from his father) and his dog (gift from his mother).
