Hi folks,

its nice to see how much content we have already collected. A few sections are still completly empty and I'd like to point at them - so they might get special attention.

Futhermore I'd like to show the progress somewhere and so I do that as well here. I see the project currently as a 3-phase project.

Phase I: Content collection
The task is to collect the already written documentation in one playe, structure it and fill the gaps.
This is currently in progress.

Following sections are yet empty :-( So, if you think you can do something about it, please do!
2 Maptool Windows & Objects
2.1 Maps
2.3 Macros
2.4 Forms
3.3.1.x Preferences - Interactions Tab and all subsections
3.3.3.x Preferences - Application Tab and all subsections
3.4 Connection Computers
3.4.1 Starting a server
3.4.2 finding & connecting to a server
4.4 Everything tokens and all subsections
6.0 Dialogs Frames and Forms (introduction)
6.4 Tables
Phase II: Content refinement
Reread, recheck, improve, unify, style. Make it indeed one text and not just a bunch of snippets.

Phase III: Layout & finishing touches
If the major editing is done I'll latex the thing. Updating screen shots, building index, ...

then its release and probably bugfixes and so on ...

there is a lot of overlap in this context and I think its wise to look at that as well. e.g. 2.4 and 6 are both about 'forms' and I think there are more of these examples.

Agreed. I see chapter 2 as a short introduction into all elements of maptool. Complex stuff gets its own chapter later.

But as you said we'll have to check for that and decide what we want to have were and maybe even streamline it.
