So I have been using maptools for my in person gaming group for about 1.5 years. We would lay a 27" screen all in one touch screen computer flat on the kitchen table. I would wirelessly connect my laptop to it as the GM and we would play. However recently the person who hosts the games bought a new house and in this place, his wife let him have the finished basement as a gaming room. So I built a gaming table for the room, we retired the 27" screen. We are currently playing a pathfinder game. I am using a custom built framework that only handles me (the GM) making attack rolls for the NPCS and keeping track of hitpoints. For the rest of things we still use dice. While we don't use paper character sheets anymore, everyone is using Hero Lab on their laptops to keep track of their characters. Gaming has come a long way from hand writing out character sheets on lined notebook paper
Here is a look at the table.
There is a link in my sig to a mostly complete build of the table.
