Age of Worms Campaign

I have been running an Age of Worms (from Dungeon magazine) campaign for the last 2 years, and started using MapTools several months ago. Its been fantastic. I use it both for local play (run the server on my PC, while the players view and interact with the map being displayed off my laptop onto the big screen TV), and to be able to play with a friend who stopped playing with us when he moved away a few years ago.

Recently, I have started to use the light & vision features to more easily show what the players can see, and its really made a difference in the look and feel of how we play. Now none of us want to use the battle mats anymore.

One question: we frequently have problems with lost network connections, the map client not updating, etc. I am using a wireless network and 1.2b32. Is upgrading to a 1.3 build likely to help? Any other suggestions?
