Should RPTools produce complete apps?

No! We're manly men and we use spit and bailing wire.

Can't Use Any Tool

Post by mythusmage »

Web Start doesn't work, I get an error message. Something about version 1.0 being supported, but not 1.5.

Neither does downloading the zip file. When are you going to finish even one of your tools?

Wow, that was a useful post. Perhaps you will notice that many people are using these tools, some of which are mac users, with no problems. Those that do have problems get quick and enthusiastic help. I have seen it. Of course, they actually ask for help and give some details so it is easier to troubleshoot.

Ask for help and you will get it. Go on a useless rant and well I guess you will get to rant and not use these very cool tools. Your call.

mythusmage, I have to assume that one of the following is the case here:

1- You couldn't get MT to work on your machine, got annoyed, and vented your frustration here without thinking.

2- You couldn't get MT to work, declined to read ANY of the threads here detailing the numerous others who do have it working and the possible workarounds and troubleshooting, and threw a tantrum instead of doing the research.

3- You are trolling for fun or because you like/work for another VTT.

If the case is number one, please take a deep breath, do some reading, and detail the issues you're having so we can help you out.

If the case is 2 or 3, please take a 30 foot walk of the nearest 20 foot pier.

mythusmage, it sounds like you made some progress (from your other post), so that's good.

We are quite a friendly lot around here and happy to help out, let us know if you have any more questions.

Yeah, I get snarky occasionally. :)

Looks like he just had a couple rough setbacks and let it get to him. Happens.

Useless post... but I still took the opportunity to refer to Mac users as "weinies" (his spelling, not mine :P)

And, for the record, I hope MapTool is NEVER "finished."
