Are the latest CT and MT compatible?

Post by Mook »

Howdy Folks!

Been messing around a bit the last couple days with the latest versions of both MapTool (1.3.b73) and CharacterTool (1.0.b13). Am I correct in assuming that CT is very much in alpha-stage, and I shouldn't expect much functionality? I'm not sure if I'm just not doing things correctly, or if CT just has a long way to go.

When I start CT, I go to "Game --> Select Game" and choose "GURPS - V2". A nice basic character sheet pops up - but I find no way to add skills, or vantages (though they are listed under "View --> Show Property Table", I cannot edit them), or languages, etc.

Just to experiment anyway, I saved the character as "testguy.rptok", but if I attempt to drag the token into MT, I see the error:

"Error during drag/drop operation - java.awt.datatransfer.UnsupportedFlavorException: Group Tool Token List"

If I add the directory containing "testguy.rptok" to MT resources, the token appears in the list, but if I attempt to put it on a map, I see the error:

"java.lang.NullPointerException

Should I just stick to creating bare-bones character sheets directly through MT, and discount CT for the time being?

Thanks!
