I have started a FAQ for the Hybrid Campaign file by updating the initial post of this. Please see above.
If there is anything else I should add, please let me know.
I have uploaded the current version of the Hybrid campaign file to the 4E LFR Campaign Files:
http://www.4shared.com/dir/9335756/ee34 ... files.html(Note: This file repository has more than one page; this file is currently on the last page)The most current file is called Template_Hybrid_1.3B70_DN4.3andVeggie2.1_Zalarian_ 20100903.zip
FAQ1. Should I make my PC token in the Hybrid framework? Actually, I don't recommend it simply due to the nature of living campaigns having different judges and campaign files, etc. There are states that have been added from one framework to the other that may not work correctly when you use your token in a game with the selected framework. Since folks use different variations of the DN or veggie frameworks, I recommend using the vanilla campaign file provided from the framework developer.
2. Is there anything I should do to my DN token to play a game using the hybrid framework?About the only thing I can think of is disabling targetting for powers. This is done on the first page of the character sheet under options. The reason is that it won't work very well is you won't be able to target Veggie tokens and if you get around this by adding the character state then the character sheet for DN will not like the Veggie token.
3. Is there anything I should do to my Veggie token to play a game using the hybrid framework?Try to avoid using the following states as they are not supported in the hybrid framework at this time:
Squeezing
Stabilized
Used Action Point
Used Immediate Action
Used Sneak Attack
Used Curse
Used Quarry
Bloodied2
Knocked Out
1st Failed Death Save
2nd Failed Death Save
Misc. Mark #1
Bonus +2
Run icon
Wings icon
Penalty (-2)
Stealth
Swimming (above)
Swimming (below)
There are a few additional steps that need to be done if your PC applies any states.
A. How to convert Veggie Tokens to Use DN/Veggie Framework:
If you are using a Veggie token in a game using the hybrid DN/Veggie campaign, you may need to update some states on your token. This is due to the fact that the name of the states are different for certain types of states (primarily curses, quarries, marks, and ongoing damage).
i. Make sure that the following macros are available under the campaign Macros windows:
ConvertVeggietoDN-Curses
ConvertVeggietoDN-DamageandOther
ConvertVeggietoDN-Marks
ConvertVeggietoDN-Quarry
ConvertDNtoVeggie-Curses
ConvertDNtoVeggie-DamageandOther
ConvertDNtoVeggie-Marks
ConvertDNtoVeggie-Quarry
ii. If the above are not visible, you can drag these macros from the lib token Lib:Zalarian.MacroConverter to your global window to activate.
iii. If the lib token is not there, you can download the current one here I have and ask your judge nicely if you can place it in the campaign (be sure to remember that there can only be one lib token with the same name throughout all the maps and it should be labeled Lib:Zalarian.MacroConverter
B. Make sure you have a backup of your token (you should always have a backup of tokens if possible..or just use dropbox for your local campaign file
C. Highlight the token(s) you want to convert
D. Press one or more of the buttons starting with ConvertVeggietoDN that makes sense for the token to convert.
E. Review the output to make sure the states got translated
F. After the game if you wanted to keep the token you played for Veggie games (usually due to saving minor tweaks in powers, etc), you can do that by highlighting the token(s) and then pressing one or more buttons starting with ConvertDNtoVeggie that makes sense for the token to convert. You should be able to save your token and use it in a normal Veggie game.
How to convert an existing DN4.3 or a Veggie 2.1 Campaign to use the hybrid campaign file. Here are the steps that one can use to convert an existing campaign file to use the hybrid campaign file. This should take about 10-20 minutes to convert a file not counting any testing you should do.
1. Open the Template Hybrid campaign file.
2. Go to Edit, Campaign Properties, and Export to a File
3. Go to the Window Menu and make sure the Campaign window is visible. Right click on the white area of the macro group and select Export Macro Set to a file. (This will save all macros under the campaign macro window)
4. On the main map, right click and save each of the following tokens as separate files (save without a colon in the name):
- Lib:Veg
- Lib:Dice
- Lib:Sheet
- Lib:Information
- Lib:Updater
- Lib:Zalarian.MacroConverter
Optional:
- Lib:libLGMUtil
- TeleportPad
- RegExParser
5. Close the Hybrid File and open the Veggie or DN Campaign File that you wish to convert
6. Save the Campaign File with a new name to differentiate this one as the hybrid file
7. Note: If you expect to use some sort of custom lighting or repositories, you may need to take note of these before updating. Most of the time this is not necessary.
8. Go to Edit, Campaign Properties, and import the file you saved earlier.
9. If the campaign file is originally a DN file, delete the following files from the campaign file (these are to be replaced later): Lib:Dice, Lib:Sheet, Lib:Information, LibUpdater
10. If the campaign file is originally a Veggie file, delete the Lib:Veg token (to be replaced later)
11. Import the Files you saved earlier in step 4 to the campaign file.
12. Go to the Window Menu and make sure the Campaign window is visible. Right click on the white area of the macro group and select Import Macro Set to import the file that you saved earlier at step 3. You may need to update the filter to show all files. You will likely get a warning saying that the macro name exists; just press yes a few times to import all of them.
13. Right click and edit the macro called Character Sheet Launcher and make sure F2 is selected as the hot key.
14. If the campaign file is a Veggie file, follow the conversion steps above for each of the maps critters (Don't forget that you can select multiple tokens at one time to convert).
15. Test the critters as necessary
16. Note: Depending on the campaign file, you may have the following issues:
- A. Certain Veggie states were used that are not supported in the hybrid file
- B. New states were added to the original campaign file that are not supported
- C. Certain Sight and/or Light were set up (since this information is text, it is possible to manually merge changes if necessary)
17. When it is time to run the campaign, I typically use the following settings under File, Start Server, Options:
- Strict token ownership is checked
- Players Receive Campaign Macros
- Use ToolTips for [] Rolls
