RFI: Ascending/Descending initiative

Post by celestian »

Any chance we can get a toggle that will allow us to use ascending or descending initiative?

I play AD&D 2e and it uses 1-10, with lower being better. I could code my own macro system but this sure seems like something that wouldn't be to hard to add and would see use for other systems as well.

Toggle for ascending/descending in initiative order would be GREAT!

1.3 is done being updated. The values only really the sort feature. You can either manually change the order based on a lower init or make a macro to sort by lower first.

Not sure where you got the idea I was asking for this to be added to 1.3.

Yeap, I can do that and I can do as the other suggested. I already use a convoluted method to manage it and it's confusing to the players. They enter in the values as the game rules tell them and then I flip those so RPtools will have the same values but in it's forced descending method. (1 is 10 and 10 is 1).

What I'd like is just an option to have it have a sortable method with options.

It's a very basic feature that most users, I would suspect, would find of use. Those that program their own frameworks (the 1%) aren't the target of this request.

If you do a search for "feature freeze" you can see the posts that refer to this. If that's no longer the case, that's news to me. I think any submitted patches will be put in to 1.4.

I was just told by the RPTools g+ community to post the RFI here.

That was me. Generally if you want a developer to pick up a request it will need to be here on the forums.

+1
Really would like initiative sort to have ascending/descending option.
