Yeah, you have to either make a token disproportionately small to fit inside their actual footprint or start cutting. I just recently had to cut off half of an elaborate spear on a token because of this. Whereas the NPC was supposed to be a dwarf with a named giant-sized long spear, it ended up looking like a dwarf with a short quarterstaff instead. :/

Less of a problem with top-down tokens... but we have fewer options for them... especially when you're pulling something special or unique from an adventure.
