Auto Reveal Fog of War tied to token Snap To Grind??

For some reason, my fog of war won't auto reveal when I turn off Snap to Grid in the token options. Is there a reason for this? Am I doing something wrong?

Yes, this is a limitiation of MT - but there is a simple workaround.
You can set up a lib-token with an onTokenMove-macro that does the reveal.

This post might show you how to do it.

You didn't ask why, but I'm going to assume that's what your question really was... ;)

When the map has a grid -- and tokens are being snapped to it -- MapTool calculates the exposed areas based on the token's position from the middle of each grid cell along the path. But when there is no grid or the token is not snap-to-grid, should it try to expose the fog from every pixel along the path? I don't think so! If you thought MapTool was slow doing vision/fog stuff, wait until you multiply that by 50! (Assuming most people use a grid size of 50px = 1 cell.)

So... would/could Lee's FoW fix take this into account? IF the option is selected to only expose at endpoint and waypoints, this shouldn't be a problem? (question directed more @Lee if he sees this).

It should. This fix was proposed quite awhile ago but it turned out to be a little more work than expected to do it correctly.
