I thought it would be a great idea to include a feature into MapTool that allows to trigger a previously set/recorded action of the drawing tool. That would create something like an animation.
It would add a lot of life to the games if the GM could hit a button and then there is water flowing into the room (= a texture being painted) or wafts of mist are drifting past.

Or is there a feature like that already? I haven't found anything like it among the makros.

Currently macros have no access to the drawing tools, so there is no way to add a "programmed" drawing. At some point in the future, the drawing objects will become "first class citizens", meaning that they will be manipulable objects, just like tokens are.
