Cool, just add those to my dropbox folder under new resources and I'll add I'll token-ize them. Still thinking of some border styles. I'm thinking a grunge metal border.

I am so glad you made these! Two questions: 1) what are the cross hatched areas supposed to represent, they look to me like they are supposed to be sidewalk; 2) what are the blue light supposed to be? Lights coming out of the gutter?Cherno wrote:Here are some street tiles I made

New revised screenshot of Sparky's Bar.
All ground textures are now proper tileable bitmaps and look much better with the light coming directly from above. Some touch-up in photoshop for the neon sign, and to give certain objects and the walls a drop shadow. Concrete Barriers are also new.

That's very cool ! Are you going to make them available as a zip file when you're done ?
Re: [Cyberpunk 2020] Interest Check in a Framework
Yes, eventually I will upload everything, but it's still far from completed, I'm still having issues with the street lights, and I need a tileable asphalt texture
Re: [Cyberpunk 2020] Interest Check in a Framework
Are you talking about 3d modeling? Dundjinni.com has a "street light" and "street lamp"depending on the style you're going for. Also, I can make a texture tileable if need be. cgtextures.com is a good source for textures.Cherno wrote:Yes, eventually I will upload everything, but it's still far from completed, I'm still having issues with the street lights, and I need a tileable asphalt texture

Re: [Cyberpunk 2020] Interest Check in a Framework
What's your technique of tiling textures? remember that they not only have to be tileable horizontally and verticaly, but also if they're mirrored and/or turned in 90 degrees increments.
As for the lighting, I meant the top-down simulated skylight.

Re: [Cyberpunk 2020] Interest Check in a Framework
I see what you mean. I usually just worry about horizontal and vertical, but if you're making a tileset, then it gets a bit more complicated. Well the edge has to be the same on all sides or is a complicated pattern that blends well. That shouldn't be a problem for a texture like asphalt, but the cheater way is to give all sides a dark edge. If you post a pattern, I'll see what I can do then describe what I did.

I especially like how this guy made his tileset. Each section is separate but he included transitions to connect those areas.

Re: [Cyberpunk 2020] Interest Check in a Framework
I figured it out myself for the pavement and asphalt. I just put a seamless version of the asphalt pattern on top and them blended both layers in a way that makes the edges seamless while keeping the noise towards the center. With some touchoing up, it looks quite good.
Re: [Cyberpunk 2020] Interest Check in a Framework
Good progress on the tiles. All shapes are done, now I'm busy doing texture work. Currently doing lane markings, after that comes pedestrian crossings etc., and after that is all done I'll have to search for some good grunge overlays and street trash to randomly scatter about
