Does Maptool support native IPv6 ?

Post by Clyde »

Greetings community.

I was testing maptool with only IPv6 installed.
Alas I have no complete test network at hand.
Now when I queried the connection information, it told me for the IP addresses "unknown" .

Hence the question, does Maptool support a native IPv6 environment?

With best regards,
Clyde.

Hello everyone.

Well, the java libraries of course support connections between ipv6 hosts (meaning direct connections are possible),...

but the cores of the question are
,
* is the rptools connection broker server, able to receive and send ip addresses in the format of ipv6 addresses...
* is the connection broker function on the maptool client side, able to send and receive ip addresses in the format of ipv6 addresses...
if the "connection information" function is not even able display them?

With best regards,
Clyde.

No, it does not.

The routines for locating IGDs (Internet Gateway Devices) are limited to IPv4.

There are also UPNP library dependencies on IPv4 that have not been updated to work with IPv6.
