Can't open the port for maptools

Post by Envyus »

When ever I try to open the port that will let people connect to my server it fails. The port remains closed no matter what I do with the router.
Here's info on my computer. But I have no idea what the problem is as this has worked in the past.

So you are using Hamachi and can not actually open a local port on your router/network?

I used it about 5 years ago when I was in a "double NAT" situation without any issue. But it has changed hands since and most certainly has had some updates since then.

You might want to seek advice on their support forums to make sure you have it set up correctly. This strikes me as a Hamachie problem not an MT problem. My recollection is that once it was set up correctly, everyone ran it and connected to my MT server easily.

You should take a look at the networking FAQ to see if you've missed anything then: http://forums.rptools.net/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=3370

In particular, how you are forwarding the port.

I'm not certain, but judging by your default gateway, you might need to use Hamachi if you're sure you're forwarding properly and it still won't work.

I fixed the problem. I had just gotten a new sucrity program and had to open the port there as well.
