would love to get this fixed, and also kind of wondering about the obscene border size added to tokens in this mode, isn't there any way to make the empty space smaller? I don't mind if the arrow overlaps the token.

Jagged is the ISO view developer and he's got a bad case of Life rignt now. We've let him know about it. He'll tackle it once he gets some breathing room.

I've had a chance to take a look at this issue.

The offset bug when you drag a character appears to be caused by the code ignoring the grid offset. So that should be relatively easy to find and fix.

As for the obscene border size, that is entirely down to the size of your image. You have a large image, which is mainly transparency, with a tiny character in the middle. Trip the transparency and it works fine.

I have submitted a patch for the path rendering error when the grid is offset.

The pull request has been merged and the fix will be in the next build.

Anyone has a link for the campaign-file with the example map from the first page of the thread (startpost)? It would be nice to try this feature, but the link is dead...
