Java issues

So I uninstalled Java 7 and threw Java 6 on my computer for my Maptools B87.
But My TokenTool won't open and I'm not sure which Java to select when it asks me to search for the program to open it with. Probably simple, but I'm not too good with Java

Verify your version of java in windows internet explorer: http://www.java.com/en/download/installed.jsp

When running token tool, use the .jar file after unzipping the files to a folder.

Maybe your installation of java is corrupted?
What does happen when you execute this line from a command-line/terminal?

Code: Select all

java -version

It's also important to visit that site with internet explorer. I use chrome and I get that message because chrome has its own version of java. Also, if you haven't restarted your computer since you installed java 6, that may cause the problem too.

Command Prompt recognizes it but Java with IE doesn't I restarted too, when I try to run my TokenTool, it just asks me to select a program to open with. I assumed, well, it's a JAR. I went into my java folder and kinda toyed around with which java program to start the TokenTool with.

Another common mistake is installing the 32bit version on a 64bit machine. What is the path to your java6 folder? Is it Program Files or Program Files (x86)?

I don't see an image from your last post. Says server is offline.

That means you installed the 32bit version. Try installing the other 64bit one and see if things work.
