Collection of Generic Token Rings based on D&D creature type

Here are the creature types: Aberration | Animal | Construct | Dragon | Fey | Humanoid | Magical Beast | Monstrous Humanoid | Ooze | Outsider | Plant | Undead | Vermin

Would anyone be interested in making some token rings based on these themes?

Here are a couple of examples. I created the Undead Ring but the dragon one I got from the web and modified it slightly.

I love the undead one, nice work!

I've personally gone back and forth on using set rings/states to denote creature types. It does give the PC's up front metagame info that would normally require a Knowledge check.

Sure, a Dragon is usually obvious as is ooze and most constructs, and that skeleton walking towards you. But how about the Vampire or other rather "humanoid" looking undead/fey/outsider/etc?

"Oh, an undead token ring? let me switch to my +2 Holy Undead Bane longsword and activate smite evil".

I've even had players, (in somewhat jest), "well, he has a red ring, so he's a bad guy, I swing at him" vs talking with said NPC. (where I usually had a lot of generic npc tokens in blue rings and been making monster tokens in red). It wasn't game breaking and he was actually insane and it would have led to battle eventually, they could have had more fun/interaction with him otherwise (which I did point out).

This HAS led me to a private wish list/feature request to include (at least at some level) TokenTool functionality into MapTool. Allow me to apply token rings to existing tokens or bulk edit tokens, macro ring change on knowledge checks, etc. And generally create tokens more on the fly inside MT.

Yeah, it's kind of meta. But when they ask for a knowledge check and say religion, then they more or less know anyway. I also use red for bad. But when it's not obvious I'll use a purple border. I'll even go as far as to hide the stat sheet with my Pathfinder2 token type.

I'll need some generic rings as well and probably several different ones for humanoids. I recently did these. Top one is an altered mirror frame. I still need to tweak it a little better. The bottom one is a picture frame I found on CGTextures.

I like the mirror one.

And ya, the knowledge checks still reveal meta, but most cover multiple types. I also ask what knowledges they have and only reveal if they have the right one. It's a simple 10+CR to ID and if they fail, I'll usually at least let them know, "It's some sort of fey but you are not sure what kind..."

Sometimes they don't even ask...

Yeah, the picture frame needs more contrast for background. Here are 2 mirror frames I tweaked. The gear frame I created for Iron Kingdoms and I made it from scratch.

The gear frame would make for a nice "Construct" ring.

This could be used for Fey?

That looks good. I'll tweak it a bit and put it on a ring. I was also thinking of using a elements of a faerie ring (mushrooms and flowers) on the frame.

Ya, a mushroom ring would be very fey like to. Although would have to be mindful to not make it to "nature" like.
