Can't install new token overlays?

Post by Styles2304 »

I do the drag and drop thing and whatever token overlay I drag in there, the center turns black? It was doing this when I used dorpond's frames.

The center inside the frame, or just all over, and on top of the frame ?

What does the frame look like when you close the overlay manager and click on the overlay selection dropdown ? The the fame appear, and what does it look like ? If you can select it, what happens when you try to use it ?

Just the center inside of the frame. When trying to select the token via the dropdown menu, the inside is black. The same thing when I try to actually use the token. THe inside is black and the pictures I drag in just move around behind the token blocked by it's center.

Could you point me to the specific frame you are using from dorpond's collection ?

This happens if a user drags the frames from their browser directly to the token manager. It is an IE thing.

Save the file back right cliking on it and saying Save As. Then when the file is actually saved somewhere the transparency will work properly.

Again, this is a IE thing.

Ok, I'll give it a try and tell you how it goes . . . kinda weird though because I use Firefox.

Ok, you were right. However, it's definitely not just an IE thing. Kinda weird don't ya think?

Very weird. I'll put a tracker in to review the drag-from-browser code

It's probably because many applications which display graphics display them as BMPs, which has no alpha channel as far as I know.

But I have heard that it only affects "Dorpond's Tokens".

*Shrug*

I remember doing a search on Google though and they mentioned something about the IE drag. Not sure why it is doing it in Firefox.

*Another Shrug*

Dunno. I downloaded them all and dragged them from windows explorer and they work fine. Although I had to drag one at a time

Tracker for that, Trevor?

Dragging from windows explorer and the browser go down two different code paths. It's possible the browser code path obtains the image data through a conduit that is not conducive to alpha channel.

Keep in mind Steel, we are talking about dragging the image directly from the internet page in Internet Explorer, not from Window Explorer.

In other words, dragging the image from this site directly into your tokentool manager.

(not sure if this is the token in question or not - just giving an example of how it breaks)
