Silly Question

Post by malachi666 »

Ok guys this might be a silly question, but I was wondering does the DiceTool have the capability of being used over the net? What I mean is can the tool be used to run remote games where one player is remotely connected to the game?

That would be a nice feature where the dice tool instances connected and the displayed showed who rolled what.

Not a silly question at all. This feature has been talked about before, but currently there are no definite plans to do this. Around version 1.2 of MapTool you will start to see more advanced dice rolling technology that will be verifiable from the GMs perspective.

As an aside, this will be using the new parser that I am currently working on integrating into DiceTool. (Just gotta find some coding time).

Having dicetool run it's own server would make it useful for IM games... or if it had it's own chat area with programmable buttons. Now this is starting to sound like... Character sheet tool ;)
