Rumble's 4th Edition D&D Framework, Version 5.0
Notice: The beta period for this framework has ended. You can find the thread on the release version of the framework here
I'm releasing a "beta" of version 5 of my 4th Edition D&D framework, incorporating a LOT of changes to both the underlying code and to the interface. Hopefully it will be a bit more intuitive and prettier, and maybe (though I'm not promising anything) even a little quicker.
The beta is available here: http://www.houseofgenius.com/files/mtfw ... -beta.html. The link on that page will point to the latest version I've uploaded.
There are a lot of changes, but primarily they are:
* New power and leader power editing interface.
* New macro arrangement on tokens - powers are sorted by action, not useage
* New consolidated token management window - this removes a bunch of maintenance macros from the token
* Marks and striker features are now added via a separate window, rather than included by default on all tokens
* Condition tracking and turn tracking have been altered and hopefully sped up
* Power editing no longer requires long strings of variables - if your attack is Strength vs. AC, you just enter "Str" in the attack line and the framework calculates the rest. Likewise, a 1W + Strength power is "1MHW + Str"
* Critical damage is automatically determined; you don't have to enter it separately
* Consumables now supported in power creation
* Powers can link to and launch other powers (such as Secondary Attacks)
* Psionic Augments supported (you can assign powers as the "augment" level of another power)
* Powers can "expend" other powers - such as Channel Divinity powers or Rage Strike
Since this is a beta at this point, bugs and glitches are expected. Report them here in this thread. When it goes to an official release, I'll set up the bug tracker for it.
Thanks!

Re: Rumble's D&D Framework, Version 5.0
When I click the link for the campaign file, I cannot download it. I get an error message about the website being unavailable or not being found. Do I have to login to the website before I can download it? Is the link correct?
Re: Rumble's D&D Framework, Version 5.0
Whoops!
Bad hyperlink on the page - should be fixed now.

Re: Rumble's D&D Framework, Version 5.0
Good news and bad news.
Good news: The hyperlinks now work.
Bad news: The page talks about a Beta version 5, but the only links available are for Bets 2, 3, and 4.
Almost there.
Thanks for the quick response.

Re: Rumble's D&D Framework, Version 5.0
Yup, it looks like Beta 5 isn't actually there... I'm sure Rumble will fix that real quick though.
I'm looking forward to testing this out for you... As soon as it's up, I'll get you a bug report ASAP.

Re: Rumble's D&D Framework, Version 5.0
It's Version 5 Beta 4. Eg, using the normal framework naming, it's rfw-dnd-v500_beta_4.cmpgn. Because at one point I'd released a version 4.2 that proved to be unworkable, I decided to jump to 5 (rather than 4.1.8 or whatever).Richard Weimer wrote:Good news and bad news.

That is, the framework is now at Version 5, but it's a beta release. Right now, it's the 4th beta. There is no beta 5 (at least, not yet).
Re: Rumble's D&D Framework, Version 5.0
Thanks for the updates, Rumble. This version is really hot, both for those that I've shown it to and for me (in terms of setting stuff up). It's really professional!
The delete power issue is gone now in beta 4. I'm going to spend some time with it this afternoon and make up some parsed tokens and try importing PCs.
Question:
1. Where's the Armory token? Your upgrade instructions refer to it, but it's not in the default campaign.
2. Initialize Token is still placing this layout on a new token. (using beta 4) 3. Can I specify a different crit formula in this version or do I just use the npc-only field to override the crit detection for PCs?
4. (This is probably a Maptools issue.) Is there a way to have frames, such as the Power Editor one, open and then remember it's size?

Re: Rumble's D&D Framework, Version 5.0
First bug, just after importing a bard (I can provide the summary of the bard if you need it).
The following error occurs after I click on the token, then Management, then Edit Character:
Invalid condition in IF(hasProperty("rfw.char.bonusVsOA")) roll option.
Statement options (if any): h,if(hasProperty("rfw.char.bonusVsOA"))
Statement Body : ""; setProperty("rfw.char.bonusVsOA",0)

Re: Rumble's D&D Framework, Version 5.0
It's been renamed to Lib:CampaignManager. But more importantly, what upgrade instructions? I thought I mentioned there was no upgrade path (or at least none that I knew worked) in the other thread?kazinsky wrote:Thanks for the updates, Rumble. Re: Rumble's D&D Framework, Version 5.0
I'll need to see the bard summary. I did an import of a level 1 character earlier and I can start the edit character macro. Must be something in the importing macros that put a value in the wrong place?Craftzero wrote:First bug, just after importing a bard (I can provide the summary of the bard if you need it).

Re: Rumble's D&D Framework, Version 5.0
Oh, that's weird. I know what the problem is - it's the single quote in the character's name. If you change it to Daxton Shiven, it'll all work. Apparently, the code sees the single quote and stops, so it thinks the name of the token is "Daxton Shiven d"
I'll see if I can fix that.

Re: Rumble's D&D Framework, Version 5.0
I'm going to take a leap and say that it's having trouble with the single quote in the name of the character.
Re: Rumble's D&D Framework, Version 5.0
Bingo. Single quotes are evil.kazinsky wrote:I'm going to take a leap and say that it's having trouble with the single quote in the name of the character.
