We haven't played DC in a little over a year and a half. (Currently we are playing a much less flashy GURPS game set during the Crusades). It is possible to use the framework to play other games using M&M 3rd ed (come to think of it the only DC specific things are the hyperlinks under the Misc column). MD and I have made a list of some things we would fix/add if and when we use M&M 3rd again for another campaign, but it could be a while yet until we get there.

Changing colors is a little tricky as when we made this framework we hadn't put together how to do a css style yet (and if you dont know how to do that...well neither do I). But it is totally possible to change things a bit, there are "asset://" tags in the code found on the DC:Lib token->CharacterSheet that can be removed or changed to nix the DC specific backgrounds.

Having opened up this framework I notice all the little improvements we have made to some of the other frameworks we've made and it makes me want to tweak some things...

soon (tm)

What I would love to find out is how you set up the character sheet in the image. I've tried getting the thing to load in my script, but haven't had much luck, though I have a feeling it has to do with the Stack Overflow (which you mention towards the beginning of the post anyways).

Otherwise it is very smooth and very easy to look at, and once I get my hands on figuring out how each of the macros works I hope to provide a bit more input. Though out of everything I see so far, how did you all keep track of Bruised conditions and the like?

If you drag an image onto the map (doesn't have to be the current map, just one within the campaign file) and name it something I dunno like CSBackground(for example).

Code: Select all

<img src="[r: getImage('CSBackground')]"></img>
should display that image in context of your macro/dialog/whatever. For our dialog I just put the image of the DC borders in line with the headers and used a background color that was the same as the image.

We tracked the Bruised conditions as a token property on each token (It's actually a little crude but this is the 3rd maptool framework MD and I built so we hadn't figured any really cool goodies yet).

I know this topic hasn't been exactly active, but it's worth a shot. So, I've downloaded your framework and I have to say it's a godsend! However, I have a few questions. When I was running a solo campaign with one of my players, she was unable to access the character sheet macro for her character. This wasn't a huge deal breaker for the campaign as I could access it for various skill rolls and the like and she could use the selection window to access her power macros, however it was kinda disappointing she wasn't able to do it herself. If it makes any difference, she was running on a Mac. Also, I had another one of my regular players try to see if he could access it (he uses Windows), but he wasn't able to open up the character sheet either. We did notice that Java was wanting him to update but I'm not sure if that would cause issue with the macros. Do you have any ideas what might be going on?

Also, I notice on some of the example tokes that they have powers for their flight and burrow abilities and that it allows them to change what their tokens looks like to denote if they're flying/burrowing/etc. How would you make this macro exactly? Thanks!

from what I remember, having the character sheet load for players requires a check box that has to be set when the host starts the server. 'campaign macros' or something.

Was wondering if anyone still used this? Whether or not they fixed some of the minor issues with it

is there a more easy way to enter the stats and powers of a character than to edit the token itself and enter the values in the property fields?
{"Unarmed":["Standard","Close","",8,"Parry","","Toughness","",1,"","",""],"Thrown":["Standard","Ranged","",6,"Dodge","","Toughness","",1,"","",""]}
I don't want to expect my players to edit something like that themselfs - and i don't want to have all the work for myself either :o

At the top of each of the sections on the sheet is a header link (like Attributes, Powers, etc.). Clicking that link opens a dialog that let's you edit that collection of stats on that token. You should never need to edit a token property or macro directly to get this framework to work

On the first page of this topic down towards the bottom is a guide I wrote that explains how to setup/understand the framework.

Does anyone know why the initiative macro in this doesn't work?

I just downloaded this framework and it looks as though it is useable. I find it streamlined and very user friendly. As for the initiative problem... It rolls the initiative but doesn't send or sort the initiative in the bar. I just added the appropriate functions to the initiative macro located on Lib:DCFiles token. In the Generic group the one labeled initiative, simply change the code to this:

Code: Select all

[h:Da=1d20]
[h:TieA=Agility/100]
[h:TieB=Awareness/10000]
[h:TieC=(1d20*1d20)/10000000]

[h:tie=sum(Da,Initiative,TieA,TieB,TieC)]
     [h:removeFromInitiative()]
     [h:addToInitiative()]
     [h:setInitiative(tie)]
     [h:sortInitiative()]

<span style="color: #c07c1e; font-weight: bold;">Initiative:</span> <b>{token.init = tie}</b>

That should allow the DM to call for initiative from the players, have them each click on their initiative link in the character sheet, it will add and sort with each players roll. This will all happen in the Initiative window built into maptool rather than in the initiative pane designed by the original author.
