Let's see...
IRL, my name is Jenni, I'm 39, I'm married (going on 12 years this August) with kid (8-1/2 year old boy), I currently live in Coquitlam BC, Canada (which is east of Vancouver, BC) and work as a User Experience (UX) Specialist.
I work for CGTV Games, a company that designs online casino games and portals. In the past I have worked for Microsoft (and a much smaller company, NCompass Labs, that Microsoft aquired in 2001) on Enterprise Web Content Management client/server software and then in the Windows Security division on Windows Server Federated Authentication and some aspects of Vista User Access Control. I also spent six months last year working for NOKIA Canada on a podcatcher application for their NSeries "multimedia devices" (aka "cell phones").
My hobbies include (but are not limited to):

- Pen and paper RPGs (big surprise there...)
Mainly D&D/d20 but I'm trying to start up a new Serenity campaign. I've been playing D&D in one form or another, with very few breaks, since my 10th birthday in 1978. My favourite campaign world is Mystara (aka "The Known World") for the "Original" D&D game (I also designed and maintain the Mystara 3E web site, an "in progress" conversion to d20/3E D&D) - 2D visual arts
Sketching, painting and the like. I mostly do computer art these days using PhotoShop and Illustrator but I like painting in acrylics when I can find the time and necessary space. Recently, I've been working on a series of print-resolution BattleMaps - reduced resolution copies of which can be found in my gallery - Harry Potter books and movies
Yeah, I wore school robes to the midnight opening of HP:OotP movie this week (I'm a Ravenclaw). I'm also chomping at the bit for the release of the seventh and final book (HP and the Deathly Hallows) on July 21st.

Well, I'll just post a link to where I talk about myself and also maybe encourage a few more folks to join our ranks.

The stitches
Well lets see, me...kind of a hard topic to sum up but i'll give it a shot.
I'm impulsive, creative, and like to do anything artistic. My name is Keith and I'm 24 years old, going on 16 lol. I like to keep young at heart and do stuff that makes me laugh. I am married to a wonderfully supportive women who will back me in any endeavour even if it is building a rocket ship out of toothpicks. I in turn, return the favor to her. We have been married going on 5 months and are very much loving our marrige. Just recently I got the news I am going to be a father and could not be more excited. My wife is about 5 weeks along and it is awesome. I can't wait.
Career wise I have bounced around from fast food, to sales, to lord only knows what else. Spent a few years at some jobs a few days at others. At current I am in college persuing a game design degree. I am an avid hobbiest photographer, and vocalist/lyricist. I have had a couple band that I have done lead vocals for but nothing that ever panned out into anything bigger than a local scene. I love music it is my primary passion and I do fully intend on making it in the industry in some fassion, probably after I obtain an audio engineering degree. (I plan on getting about 5 degrees by the time I wrap up with all my college education.)
My wife and I reside in beautiful southern Oregon. Medford is a lovely town that is 1 hour away from anything outdoorsy you would want to do for a weekend. That about sums it up for me...I guess so.

Knowledge is Power! Feel the Power!
Hello All,
Well where to begin... Married 13 Years, kids, dogs and cats. Both the wife and I grew up in homes sans any pet of any kind. Our neighbors joke that we are collectors . Ahh but seriously the wife quit her career as a teacher and volunteers part time with a local animal rescue.
Now as for games... I am a total old school game geek. I regularly play RPGs D20 & Top Secret. I have even toyed with creating my own, but ITS A HUGE amount of work to make one complete. The core group I play with have been playing together since the mid 80's (yes I'm that old). Over time we have scattered all over the world and players have come and gone as life allows. We are currently 7 strong and play as large group several times a year.
Really the internet and then later broadband and then Skype and now MapTool have made it possible for us to keep playing despite living all over the world! Gosh I remember using yahoo chat... it took ages, it was just painful to play in those days.
With RPGs we needed a good voice connection (Skype or VOIP/Vonage) and then we used a webcam to point at the battle board. Still the webcams are grainy and you can not see much detail or even tell the minis apart most times. In other words it sucked, but was the best we could do. At least we could speak freely, and that sped things up a lot.
Eventually the euphoria over easy and free speaking (Skype) wore off and the webcam view became tiresome. We tried dozens of products with varying success: VNC, VLC, WebEx(pricey), Live Meeting (Pricey), IM.Live Screen Share, Skype.UseeToo, Skype.WhiteBoard, OpenRPG, BattleBoard, and those are just the ones I remember! this process has gone on for years !!!!! I even started writing my own screen share app, but I'm an MS developer and several members are Mac-FanBoys so it was really a non starter.
Ok I'm taking to long to get to the point. I maintain a BB for gamers and a member asked if anyone had used MapTool and posted a link. To be honest by then I was pretty tired of installing and congfiguring apps only to remove them a few weeks later. I had decided despite its limitations and clunky UI to commit to useing OpenRPG. So I dragged my feet for weeks. Finally I went to the site found documentation (Thats a nice + with open source!) and decided to give it test run on a weekly mini campaign I play... and the rest is history!
A little shameless self promotion!
Thanks!
