Errors when adding VBL and Vision.

I keep getting the following when I am adding VBL and or adding Vision (day or night) can any one tell me what it all means?

You most likely run MapTool on Java 7. See the announcements for a solution.

Thanks for that. Do you know how I can check my Java version, and also if you could point me in the right direction of the solution, or tell me how to search for it that would be great!

Found it and it is Java 7.
