RPG software links

Post by heruca »

There's a new wiki starting up that hopes to become a central repository of links to software apps and utilities pertinent to RPGs:
http://www.mesagames.com/d20wiki/Software_and_Resources

Thought you guys might want to add info there for all your tools.

Yes, but there are no descriptions for any of the tool entries.

Says it's for stuff based on d20. Most of the stuff there isn't. Not sure I want to be pigeonholed like that.

Perhaps they have their semantics wrong, and meant "supports" D20 ?

lol, I don't know, "This is a list of software and utility web sites for games based on the d20 System." is pretty specific to me.

I'll add my site anyway, but they don't really need that in there, will turn a lot of people away.

Being a wiki, could change that and see if it sticks :)

off-topic: Thought this was kinda funny:

A music and sound effects application written in Java.
PC (Mac eventually, Linux hopefully...)

Guess everything DOESN'T just kinda work on a Mac.

On another side note, looks like the RPG Audio Mixer was written by the same person who drafted the resource wiki page, Spilth

Yes, it's the same person. He says that he's having UI issues with Java on the Mac.

And according to a thread on the wotc forums, he pretty much meant "supports d20", or "d20-compatible".

Ahh, right, he's using SWT which doesn't have the same support as Swing.

Which is still a pigeonhole, an unnecessary one at that.
