MapTool 1.2b29 update

Post by trevor »

It's pretty much all ready to go, but we're putting a few minor tweaks in for the marker tokens.

I'll do the build first thing Sat morning

Heh, that's a perfect example of why I shouldn't do a release at 1a :)

Don't worry...we will wait patiently... (Been up all night like Christmas ... LOL J/K) But we do anitisipate great things. I noticed one thing... Maptools has doubled in size since version 1.1 or close to it.

And the libraries are only downloaded when they change if you are using Web Start.

OK - Cool.
I know its a bit early for requests for the next version.... :o
I am creating a series of huge maps for the Castle of Expedition to Castle Ravenloft complete with lighting effects, torches, candles, etc.

Perhaps I am doing something wrong, but 3 bugs/feature requests/issues I have found:

1) I know its been brought up but: When a PC moves into a cleared area that is no-longer directly illuminated, should he still disappear? (No is my vote. I don't mind if he disappears into "the darkness".)
Oh wait - never mind - I'll just give all my PC's vision of 5'. Found that suggestion in a search of the forums.

2) I also know this was brought up... Have a hot-key command that will reveal ALL light sources. Kinda silly when players can;t see a burning wall-torch or fire-place unless they are right on top of it.
Oh wait - never mind. I can just remove the fog in those areas manually. Instead of assigning vision to a fireplace, I can either remove the fog or hit CTRL-I when I set up the map and assign the vision.

3) The Menu bar says the hot-key for Zoom is = and the hot-Key for 1:1 is +. I assume that is reversed.

OK - so I wasted all this time to tell you that the + and = were switched. Oh well.

BTW - Great Job. My group will get their first glimpse of 1.2 and dynamic lighting as they step for the first time into Stradh's castle! That should sufficiently freak them out!
