NEWS FLASH: Several features of MapTool will now be "female only" in order to encourage more women to game.
All of a sudden the WebCam feature is looking mighty tempting :)

If I'd only known that's what it would take to get the feature implemented I would have offered to find some wimmens earlier. Of course, I'm pretty sure my wife would object just a bit to any sort of escort being hired for my gaming needs...

the only thing I'm good at is writing documentation
Oh man, do we ever need help with docs. You might also contact Brad and see if about working with him on some tutorials. Either writing some scripts, or perhaps even some non-video tutorials. Also feel free to check out the wiki documentation, it needs lots of work.
I'll do that...now to figure out how...if only there were some documentation on that... jk, I'll be in touch with him.

UPDATE:

I've been working on bug fixes primarily and reviewing/integrating the init panel.

I also put in a new behind-the-scenes feature today. Auto backups. This is different than auto saves. Whenever you load a campaign it copies the original file to an internal "backup" directory. By default MT will keep 256m of campaign files backed up. As a new one is copied in, the oldest one will be removed to make room.

That way, if for whatever reason your campaign file is all the sudden unusable, you can go into the backup dir and grab the version that you started with. Think of it as an invisible safety net for your hard worked on campaign file :)

Next is to make the save process more resilient. Right now it copies over the old file, I'm going to change that so that it writes a new file, then moves the old one out of the way and moves the new file in. That way if there's a failure in the save process it won't touch your original save file.

Those two things should greatly improve the stability of working with campaign files.

That said, I still _strongly_ encourage everyone to backup their own files on a regular basis, it's just good practice.

Oh yeah, I'm also waiting for giliath to review and apply the s4e patch to the dicelib so that we can get that in there.

Then I'll build 1.3b31.

Update:

Turns out upgrading from hessian protocol 2 to hessian protocol 3 broke the service calls to rptools (server registrations).

I'm working on a solution.

I've also received a couple more user contributed patches.

I found a couple bugs with the latest dev version. Where is the best place to report, so that I'm not telling you guys something you already know?

Not to derail this thread... but you are "truly a rabid, imprisoned, Pac Man with sharp teeth that likes to eat 8-sided dice"?

I take it that's a "good" thing?

B28 Possible Bug:

VBL 5ft corridor moving left to right or right to left. The Movement Counter disappears under the VBL so player can not see it.

I am "Chomping at the Bit"... that is a combo of "Chain Chomp" and "Bit" from Tron.

Thanks for the report. I've got a tracker to put the movement items above the fog.

UPDATE:

I finally figured out a workaround for the server list bug that appeared with hessian3.

Now all I need to do is integrate the init panel and hammer out a couple more bugs and I'll do the build.
