Thanks for the link AM, images like these will probably the alternative I go to should I not find what I'm look for. Also, while I would like to use animated GIFs, I'm not sure if MT supports it, does it? It'd be easier if that were the case

Here're some examples of what I'd like to use:

1
2
3

I just think that due to their nature, they won't need much processing in order to use, I tend to be lazy when it comes to those things after the RL grind

Gifs are only supported as an external image in a frame. Any of those background images can be made in to a banner. You just need to crop and resize images. I use Paint Shop Pro but Gimp is free and can do the needed editing.

Paste in to chat as an example:

Code:
[frame("gif"):{<img src="http://i.pbase.com/o4/54/24354/1/63959702.umsmiZ8L.Animation23July4.gif" width=500 />}]

oh cooool. I did a search on the forums and saw Rumble's response to an animated gif question so I thought it wasn't possible at all. by external, what're the options to serve these? would it have to be only through an http server? or can the usual methods of providing a repository in MT suffice? apart from animated gifs, I was thinking of just sequencing through a table of images made from a master image where I move around its bits / parts using an image editor. but thanks for the tip, it does provide a lot of dynamism to the usually static MT field.

yeah, I use both GIMP and Photoshop as well. the reason for my laziness to resize etc is because of the huge amount of image processing backlog I've accumulated for my actual framework

I'm almost close to going live with my modifications. I just need day and night backgrounds, sized like the one I put in the example I posted, for each weather type and it's good to go. If anyone can help with that I'll have it out with instructions etc soon after. I'd do it myself but I've run out of time again and have got to work too  Thanks for the resources provided previously, I just don't have the time to sift through them right now :)

What dimensions do you want? At what point do you want the horizon (midway? 20% from bottom?)

XD that's a very good question A.M. I had to plow through in the making of this that I didn't have to time to do some things smarter in the manner I wanted to. The example's more or less the same as the one I used figure out the movement and size of visual I wanted. It's viewed with the 1920x1080 resolution I've set for my screen. I guess in hindsight I should allow for a more dynamic approach, taking into consideration screen resolution etc. I'll probably do that in the future. I didn't do so this time around because I was pretty sure that MT frames and dialog windows don't allow the setting and querying of their dimensions "programmatically" though I cold be wrong. If it's possible, then I'll work out the ratios and image resizing according to window. For now, I just careened on through

I made it so the the celestial object starts from the bottom left tip, so a horizon of about 5-10px might do the trick. The sun image is 50x and your moons are, of course, 40px. I believe it'll be better if I leave it to your aesthetic sense and make adjustments on my end. In any case, the sky trail is just part of the whole package. I just wanted the tables filled so I can release this as beta so I can develop through feedback moving forward. Thanks A.M., you're awesome as alwasys :D
