Leave it to me, I just use the old fashioned stuff. So in the spirit of sharing, I thought I'd share what I call:

Combat Map Numbers

(updated 11/25/15)

I use them to number rooms, troops, areas, strictly for my viewing, but they aren't set invisible. I made them on the Tokentool, so there shouldn't be any problems. They get big, they get little. They're numbers. 1-105. Times Roman 24 font. Who knows I might get ambitious and add new colors.
No matter what a GM plans for, the players are certain to find another way to do it
