Isometric game, anyone tried yet?

Post by xavram »

Has anyone run a game using the new Isometric maps? How did it go? Any screenshots to share?

I was going to run a Pathfinder game using this, but I'm now a player in one, so it will be awhile before I can really kick the tires on it.

I am using isometric maps sometimes in my campaign. I used to make the maps with diablo assets.

Playing isometric pros:
-more realistic
-3d info

cons:
-harder to map
-sometimes walls or columns could cover tokens.
-Can be difficult to see the relative token's position

Thanks a lot!
Yes, I did it myself, using diablo and diablo 2 assets and maps.

Sure I can share it!

The first map use assets from diablo computer game

The second use a photosoped map from diablo 2 and some assets to make columns and doors.

OneDrive links for the maps.

This is really really great to see. I developed the isometric functions but have yet to use them in anger myself. So to know someone/some group is out there using it is extremely heartening.

You are my new best friend

Are you using multiple images for token facing as well?

Just for opened and closed doors. For tokens is dificult to find images showing diferent angles for the same monster/character.

I think that isometric functions are a great improvement to the game. It makes the experience more realistic and seems you are playing a PC game like Baldurs Gate, while you are playing the same loving and classic role playing game. Thanks to you for developed it, my friend!!;)
