Drat, I made one tonight for the Sci-Fi gamers. Oh well, post yours and we will take a look at both.

Ok, here's a simple ocean square. Do what you will with it.

Here you go Steel! I took your ocean map and did my best at making it seamless.
In the future though, if you are going to add light of any kind, make sure that light is dispersed evenly across the whole picture. When it is focused in the center, the tiled version leaves us to see many globes of light on the unbound map and it ends up looking unnatural. If you can, don't have a spot light at all.

Believe me I tried, but either the sun light was too dispersed, and the water was too dark, or it ended up like this. This was the lesser of the two evils. I messed around with global illumination and radiosity, but no difference. Might be because I had nothing else in the scene for light to "bounce" off of. I'll have to mess with it some more.

Hey Trevor, here is this map in a small 45k version also for your quick maps. Again, it is less pretty but that is the price we have to pay I guess if you want to keep the Maptool file size low.
Feel free to package it in the latest release.

(Dorpond vomits all over the corner of his desk and then replies to Trevor)
Well I can't stand the way it looks now
I see your point though - having a half dozen maps all at 600K each will quickly inflate the size of Maptool. At 10-50K it is barely noticable..
(Dorpond pukes again when he looks how his waves turned into hazy blocks)
I guess I would rather have the quick map than not though. I guess if players want a better looking one, the can just download it

If you want it a little cleaner, feel free to bump it up to 100k or even at a stretch 150k
