Some floor tiles

Post by Steel Rat »

This is a 200x200 concrete tile made seamless using the GIMP. It's a little rough and the pattern is pretty visible when zoomed out, but as a base (use as an unbounded map) it's not bad.

Is there an easy way to create seamless tiles in GIMP? I thought there was a procedure previously posted, but I couldn't find it.

I just used the Filter>Map>Make Seamless. Doesn't always work great.

Few suggestions:

The grain of the concret is too large in perspective to a medium token. It doesn't look realistic because of that when a medium creature is standing on it.

There is a noticable seem that could make it look like tiles I guess.

If you make the image bigger, I will be happy to make it seamless for you :)

There was no noticeable seam when I used it in Maptool. Noticeable pattern, yes, but I didn't see a seam.

I don't think the texture itself works really well, I'm trying to find something better. But if, as I said, you're using it as a bas to load a bunch of other stuff onto, it works pretty well, for me it did anyway.
