Halls of the Beast-Tamers (In Progress)

Post by PillBox »

I was paging through my Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting (Original grey box), and came across the Halls of the Beast-tamers in the DMs resource guide, so decided I'd recreate it.

This is what I have done so far. Been pretty slow to make as I am trying out some new things here. The black water sections are cola textures, lol.

Anyone have any suggestions or tips, and what do you think so far?

Cool; I'm going to steal that cola idea when I do a swamp. 8) The green "shorelines" look too perfect to me, though- is that deliberate? Also, the stairs could use a gradient or something- as it stands, you can't tell which end is high.

The green shoreline is supposed to be moss. That was the best texture I could find. My girlfriend said it looks too much like grass.

Ah, it's moss on stone. That makes sense.

Agreed. It looks too long to be moss.

Here's a site that has a TON of moss on stone textures.

It's a map-makers dream !

Sweet work mate. Love the extensive use of the drop shadow and bevel :D
I agree with the above comments but other than that i can't see anything wrong.

not had much time on this. Made some changes, but I am not sure I will keep them.

Ignore the tripple bunks for the moment - rather horrible looking.

EDIT :

Tried to attach the file - but it did not work.

Pretty sweet, PillBox. :)

Those bunks aren't bad, they just need a foreshortened ladder to sell them.

If you can, you may want a stronger shadow at the walls to give them more feeling of depth. Not overly important, though.

Excellent job.
