Upgraded to 1.4.04 and players cannot connect

I was using 1.3b86 for awhile with Java 7. I got a new laptop and thought I should upgrade my maptools. I upgraded maptools to 1.4.04 and using the most current Java. My players did as well.

I poked a hole in my firewall with port forwarding like I did before. However, my players are getting an error trying to connect.

Since we're supposed to be playing right now, some quick advise would be appreciated.

Try using UPnP and change your port to something else like 51235. Also, you should only have one version of java and it probably should be the 64bit version (manual download required).

My first guess would be windows security on the new Java. Did Windows asked you for permission to access public networks?

I tried the UPnP but it is not working. I do get the message that UPnP found 1 IGDs but no port mapping suceeded?

Ugh...Figured it out. MCafee firewall was keeping everyone out...
