Port forwarding with Airport Extreme on Mac OS X El Capitan

Post by weepingminotaur »

I've been trying this whole evening to get port forwarding going, to no avail. I'm using an Airport Extreme base station and a Mac running OS X El Capitan. Had a player in my campaign try to connect to maptool three times without success.

I have followed all the online instructions for modifying my router network settings -- TCP/UDP ports, etc. -- but nothing has worked. NAT port mapping is enabled.

Of the following, what goes where:

My computer's private IP
My computer's private port
My router's external IP
My router's external port

Do I need a static IP for my own computer (which I've done)? Can someone provide a step-by-step guide for doing this on a Mac? I feel like I'm going in circles. Any help appreciated.
