Two days ago, I started building a new map. Last night, when I tried to open MapTools, it did not open, giving me a message entitled "Application Failed to Update."



In no way, shape, or form am I a coder, so I have not changed anything about the program itself. I do not believe that my JAVA has been updated in the last 48 hours either. This morning, I deleted MapTools completely from my computer, and then downloaded it again from RPTools. I still get the same error.

Any help or ideas will be appreciated.

Also let us know what operating system and what version of Java.

When you say "deleted" how did you delete it?

Did you use the Uninstall from the start menu (on Windows) or are you on another OS?

You might try an older version of MT to see if that works. And if it does, we’ll need the info from the Help>Debug panel of the one that works, along with the version number of the one that fails (as Phergus’ says).

I would make sure to delete this folder to insure it's completely removed:
I had a problem with this after installing 1.4.1.8 where any other version I ran still showed as 1.4.1.8.
