NPCs

Post by Blakey »

Hey,

How do you guys handle bog standard vanila NPCs in Init Tool? For example, if you have a standard militia for a city and they comprise a captain of a unit and five archers and five infantry troops, you might want to create entries for "City Militia, Archer" and so on in the main database almost as if the entry was for a race. Is this how it should be done or is there a different way?

Also, when it comes to unique NPCs (BBEG for example) what do you do with them? Just create them by hand in a group?

Cheers all!

That's what I do, but then I am not as proficient with init tool as others here probably are.

I've been adding my NPCs to the XML database by hand so far. This allows me to create generic thugs and the like and re-use them. Seems to work fine, apart from an issue I'm having with getting some custom data to display. See my thread on Custom Data.
