Group Sets vs. Groups vs. Encounters vs. Combatants

Post by Amaril »

OK, so it's been a while since I've played with InitiativeTool, and I decided to take a look at the latest build. One thing I've been pondering about still is organizing the "pieces" within the system.

It seems to me that they work something like this:
  • Combatants: Individual PCs, NPCs, and monsters.
  • Groups: A particular cluster of combatants; a group of monsters in a single room, for example, or the party of PCs.
  • Group Sets: An adventure or campaign cluster of Groups?
  • Encounters: A distinct event that includes groups and/or combatants.
Do I have this right?
And are there still plans for being able to save individual combatants as files?

That is the way that I use them.

In the next release of IT you will be able to export your individual combatants as token files. The new Character Tool. which I'm planning to release right after the next IT release. will be able to read the token files and then display the same character sheets (index cards) that IT uses to the players.

That is really good news! I can't wait to use both of these. Thanks! :D
